Yanis Benidir

Ingénieur Polytechnicien (X2016) - Corps des Mines
2nd year PhD Student
LASTIG | IGN / ENSG
I am a PhD student in Geographic Information Sciences at LASTIG, the research lab of the French National Mapping Agency. Fascinated by artificial intelligence, computer vision and keen on geography, I try to build efficient solutions to monitor the evolution of the territory from aerial images. I focus mainly on leveraging deep learning methods to detect changes in remote sensing data.
After two years of preparatory classes in Mathematics/Physics, I entered École Polytechnique in Paris, where I progressively focussed on applied mathematics. After graduating in 2019 I joined Corps des Mines, the foremost technical Grand Corps of the French State.
During the formation, I did two long missions in the industry, keeping a sight on artificial intelligence and computer vision subjects, and I graduated from the MVA’s Master (Mathematics, Vision and Learning) in 2021. After the final year of training (MBA in Public Administration), I took my first position at IGN for a PhD.
